Of the various therapies which enhance the longevity and the quality of life of a chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient, nutrition stands out as the strongest pillar which has stood the test of time and the rigors of scientific research. Indeed, dietary modification forms one of the most important components of lifestyle change for the prevention of CKD.

Once diagnosed with CKD, it is important to slow down the progression of CKD and herein, nutrition again plays a pivotal role in the management of these patients. Eventually, once the disease progresses and the patient lands up on dialysis, a paradigm shift is needed as far as nutrition is concerned.

In spite of such a vital role which nutrition plays in nephrology both in the prevention and management of acute kidney injury and CKD, it fails to find its rightful place in curriculum in the training of nephrology in India.

Hence, it is important to have such dedicated nutrition societies and dedicated conferences which showcase the nuances and the advances in metabolic and nutrition care in CKD.

We, in the organization committee, extend you a warm welcome, and we hope you will enjoy the meeting as much as we all enjoyed, putting it all up for you.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely
